Vortex Formation and Instability in the Left Ventricle, University of Minnesota
YouTube Video
This video helps to visualise the 3D vortex dynamics of ventricular filling using modern MRI technology:
- Rich 3D topology and dynamic during left ventricular (LV) diastolic fillings
 - The flow is dominated by the formation, propagation, and break-down of the E-wave vortex ring
 - The physiological flow waveform is generated with mitral valve inflow
 - Ring break-down is driven by its impingement on the posterior wall and 3D instabilities induced by a number of fundamental vortex-vortex and vortex-wall interactions
