School for
Restorative Medicine

Learning the language of the body, healing the inner terrain

Our body does not lie, but are we able to hear it? Can we truly behold the wonder of its intelligence? Trillions of cells enmeshed together in a matrix of structured water, an intricately orchestrated whole, coalesced into organs. Encased in fascia, muscles, skin, held upright and in movement by a crystalline scaffolding of bone. Perpetually rebuilding itself, remembering, learning and healing. Its boundaries porous, in a constant flow of communication with the rest of life – from the food on our plate, and the voice of a beloved, to the movement of the planets. Thus, in relationship with all things, our body becomes whole. An indivisible vessel, home to all that we are; our memories, the stories of our ancestors, our soul. What a profound mystery, beyond the reach of our grasping intellect, split asunder from its true place in this intelligence.

Welcome to School for Restorative Medicine

Why do we ail? This is a space of inquiry and learning, with intent to shed light on the root causes and processes driving the relentless rise in chronic disease.

Through a study of our inner terrain, we can begin to discern not only detrimental influences but also gain profound appreciation for the beauty and resilience of living systems. Such vast intelligence which continuously reveals itself in ever evolving feedback loops, clearly holds capacity for self-repair and renewal.

The School for Restorative Medicine is thus a space for shared sense-making, with awareness first and foremost on what prevents our flourishing. Together, we gather insights adding depth and detail to the ever evolving maps guiding our journey back to health and wholeness.

Join us in exploring pathways to restoration, unlocking the body’s inherent potential to thrive.

Meet the Founder

Dr.Nicole Freris

MBBChir, MRCP, MRCGP

Cambridge-trained physician. Amazonian barefoot doctor. Medical maverick.

I’ve spent over 35 years listening to and deciphering the body’s stories – from London’s concrete jungle to the Amazon’s green heart. MRCP, MRCGP, then trading my stethoscope for traditional remedies when conventional medicine couldn’t reach where my patients lived or the illness suffered. Returning from 10 years in Brasil with forest air in my lungs and questions in my heart, I have evolved a new approach: Restorative Medicine - forged at the NHS coalface, inspired by 'good' science, systems thinking and permaculture design, and refined through mentorship with herbal legend Christopher Hedley. Now I support practitioners in learning the language of the body, taking guidance from its vast intelligence to illuminate pathways to true healing.
