Description

Here the focus is on the intricate complexity of the adaptive immune system, overseen by the lymphocytes. We learn about their early development, training and activation, and how and what they remember. Proteins in the form of antigens and antibodies are explored in the context of the immune response. Finally, the lesson pans back to look at the common immune dysregulation in chronic disease, meta-inflammation – a body in perpetual battle with itself. Here we pause to reflect on what this might teach us about chronic disease, war and peace, grief and gratitude.
This lesson comes from Course II: Who Are You? Self and Other. Click here to purchase the entire course.
